Trip to the Desert for ALC & ALIF Students

Friday, April 28th 2017

ALIF is sponsoring a trip to the beautiful dunes of Southern Morocco!
We will depart from ALIF at 12:30 pm on Friday and arrive in Erfoud around 8 pm to spend the night in Hotel Xaluca with a buffet dinner, music and swimming.
After a relaxing morning swim and breakfast, we will head for the dunes, arriving at Merzouga’s Tombuktou Hotel one hour later where a buffet lunch will be served.
In late afternoon, we will ride camels on an overnight trek to the oasis to watch the sunset on Saturday night. We’ll leave Merzouga early Sunday morning after breakfast and should be back in Fez by 7:30 p.m
The cost for this excursion, including all transportation, meals and hotel expenses is 1400 dh including camels.
We will have a very short MANDATORY orientation meeting on Thursday, April 27, at 12:15 in room 1 to discuss the itineraries and what to bring.

We Used To Make Things Right In Concert

We Used to Make Things in Concert! Thursday, April 13 at 7 PM
ALIF Riad, 6 Derb Drissi, Batha, Fes

Here are some examples of their music:

“We Used to Make Things are a North London 8 piece pop-group that make a grand noise. A patchwork of different people bonded through their music with spell-binding 4-part vocal harmonies, soaring melodies, brash horn sections and a satisfying respect for a good pop hook. Spearheaded by intensely smart lyrics about dissatisfaction, personal-politics, isolation and the kind of characters Mike Leigh and Harold Pinter would be proud of. The band deliver an electrifying and entertaining full live show as well as unadorned a cappella pop that has enthralled audiences of all ages. We Used to Make Things’ journey is in turn funny, poignant and also very good to dance to. They are proudly indie, and 100 per cent D.I.Y. They have played festivals including Larmer Tree, Secret Garden Party, Standon Calling, Independent Music Day and more locally at venues including the Union Chapel, St. Pancras Old Church and Ronnie Scotts.”

This concert, organized by the ALC-ALIF Music Club, is free and open to the general public.
